Questions
I've never been
in an accident how do I start the process?
After the accident,
call your insurance agent so they may process the claim and take
the report. The agent or a claim rep. will give you a claim (or
reference) number. At this point you may bring your vehicle to a
repair facility. The office staff will then create a damage report
for your vehicle and contact your insurance company (referring to
your claim number). The insurance company will then contact the
repair shop and authorize repairs (a claim can be authorized by
phone, physical inspection by a rep., or processed online depending
on company policy). Once both you and the responsible party (insurance
company) have agreed on the repairs, work may now begin. If your
vehicle is not drivable, you may call Xclusive Collision & Towing,
Inc immediately and we will have the vehicle towed at no cost to
you, and the preceding process will begin. It's easy, let us do
the work for you!
* Note: All
insurance companies have different policies, check with your agent
for instructions specific to your policy.
Am I required
to use a repair shop recommended by my insurance company?
The answer is
NO. Only you may determine where your vehicle is repaired. Research
a shops facility, equipment, and staff training to help you make
a best decision for you and your investment.
Is an insurance
company "DRP" (direct repair program shop) better qualified
or better set up to offer superior service.
The answer is
NO. A DRP shop can be less qualified, have inferior service history,
less equipped, and be less experienced than any particular non DRP
shop. Compare Xclusive Collision & Towing experience, equipment,
and service history with others and we're sure you will lean to
the superior product that has given us our name. Our continuous
training brings us to the cutting edge of the collision repair industry.
What happens
if an agreement cannot be made between me and my insurance company?
If an agreement
cannot be reached between your insurance company and the repair
shop, your policy has an "Appraisal Clause" whereby an
independent appraiser can be called in to help resolve the matter.
